Womens' Day 2020

Here’s to strong women:

may we know them,

may we be them,

may we raise them.

Every year, March 8 is celebrated as International Day for Women. G.C.T.E however, held the celebrations earlier on March 6, 2020. It was the last offline maskless 'normal' programme for us. The very next week came the lockdown and now we are living in fear of what's next.

The Women's Cell organized the programme in a two-fold manner. In the first session, we had a cancer awareness programme by 2 doctors from Gigi Hospital. In the second session, our senior, and transgender activist, Ms. Shyama spoke about womanhood as a whole. As part of the celebrations, I went around collecting opinions from students and faculty on what or who a 'woman' is. A compiled video on the topic was shown at the programme.
