Onam 2020

  The 2020 Onam celebration was a first of its kind in the history of Government College of Teacher Education, Thycaud. With the COVID pandemic outbreak, the college union had to come up with a novel method for celebrating the festival. SARGAM organized a virtual celebration named e-onam on August 27, 2020. Even though the usual festivities of creating a pookalam, swinging on an oonjal, or even the joy of eating a sadhya together were missing, a new synergy was built by the active participation of all the assembled in the various activities that were conducted live and pre-meet. Teacher's Day 2020

  If there were no teachers’, all other professions would not exist. September 05 is celebrated as Teacher’s Day in India every year in honour of one of India’s greatest teacher who was also the former president of the nation, Dr S Radhakrishnan. Without fail, Government College of Teacher Education, Thycaud also celebrated the auspicious day, on September 05, 2020 albeit through virtual help due to the COVID ’19 pandemic. As a teacher training institute, it is of no surprise that the importance of the day was felt deeply and celebrated grandly by the student-teachers and teachers. Keeping with the teacher’s day theme by UNESCO for 2020, Teachers: leading in crisis, Reimagining future, the pride of being a teacher resonated within the gathered as they vowed to do their best as a Teacher.
